Key_word Chronic pelvic pain syndrome, Extracorporeal magnetic innervation Abstract Purpose: Chronic pelvic pain syndrome(CPPS) commonly occurs in men, but the pathophysiology and treatment are not clearly defined. The clinical efficacy of extracorporeal magnetic innervation was examined. Materials and Methods: A prospective study of 14 patients with CPPS was performed between January 2002 and June 2002. All patients were treated with extracorporeal magnetic innervation for 4 weeks. Before and after treatment, patients completed the National Institute of Health Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index(NIH-CPSI). The average scores of 4 subjects before and after treatment were analyzed. Results: In the 4 subjects, the average scores for pain or discomfort(p=0.02) and the total scores(p=0.01) decreased significantly after treatment. There was an insignificant decrease in the score for urination(p=0.20) and a borderline- significant increase in the quality of life score(p=0.05). Conclusions: Extracorporeal magnetic innervation is effective in the treatment of CPPS. However, further study and long-term follow-up are needed before clinical application. 저 자 소 속 가톨릭대학교 의과대학 비뇨기과학교실 제 목 만성골반통증후군 환자에서 체외자기장요법 치료 효과 출판정보 대한남성과학회지 2003 Apr 021(01): 44-47.
